GONG is a non-partisan citizens’ organization founded to encourage citizens to take active participation in political processes.
GONG's activities: - non-partisan monitoring of election process - education of citizens about their rights and duties - encouragement of bilateral communication between citizens and their elected representatives - promoting of transparency of work within public services - management of public advocacy campaigns - provides support and help to citizens in self-organizing initiatives
GONG conducts its activities through three core programs: - “Election program”, - “Parliament program” - “International relations”
“Election program” consists of election monitoring and civic education. GONG encourages, organizes and educates Croatian citizens to monitor elections as domestic, non-partisan observers in order to prevent and/or reveal the election law and regulations malpractice, report to the public and build citizens’ trust and confidence in election process. In advance of elections, GONG routinely manages civic education
“International Relations” consists of trainings and education for NGOs and state organizations abroad; international cooperation and networking trough membership in international NGO associations and independently and also of self-education and international exchange of knowledge and expertise. As an experienced election monitoring organization in Europe, GONG conducts workshops, educational trainings and consultations for similar organizations from Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and Asia. Besides election related activities, we also share our experiences about our Parliament Program as well as organizational development trainings to a range of interested organizations. We have trained and consulted various organizations from Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Ukraine, Russia and Central Asian countries.
